People want to know where I am on the political spectrum. Am I left or right? It is not that simple.
I’m not prescriptive in my approach to problem solving. I’m solutions oriented and open to wisdom from wherever it may come from to solve our 21st century challenges.
The role of government is to create safe, fairly-regulated environments for innovators, creators and entrepreneurs, to invest in connecting points like transportation, transit, and digital networks, to create a healthy, well-educated society that lifts up those who need it,
and to manage natural resources and maintain the healthy ecosystems that fuel our mind, body, and soul.
Over the past 16 years, politics has replaced good governance. The BC Liberals have used their power to serve themselves and their corporate donors.
Their promises are hollow. A few months before the election they roll out cabinet ministers like second rate hollywood stars. They feign interest in the problems they have allowed to fester while playing political games with the opposition.
The BC NDP have failed to demonstrate they operate any differently, so they don’t offer much change for British Columbians.
The left and right use fear and exotic voting strategies to limit voters choices and bind them in knots. Let’s escape the left/right and embrace a new approach to creating the 21st century innovative and creative solutions economy that we so greatly need.
I spent nearly three years as the Interim Leader of the BC Green Party because I believe we need another choice for government, one that empowers people locally, regionally, and globally.
Over the coming weeks and months I hope you check out the BC Greens, I think you will like what you see. If you are in Saanich North & the Islands please visit my website, www.adamolsen.ca, and connect with me.
So until next time, HÍ,ÁȻE (goodbye).
